We specialize in residential and light commercial renovations in Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and surrounding areas.
Jim Kelly Construction is a veteran owned business. Jim served several years as Navy officer and moved to North Carolina to pursue his MBA at UNC Chapel Hill, where he discovered his interest in construction. He started working with a general contractor during grad school and liked it so much he continued to work with him after graduation, eventually getting the inspiration to start his own company.

Owner
Jim Kelly
Jim served as Navy officer for seven years, serving on two guided missile destroyers. He started doing remodeling in 2017 as an apprentice for Morning Sun Builders and then started Jim Kelly Construction in 2020.
He lives in Durham with his wife, Ruth. When he's not working you may meet him camping, hiking, or climbing at one of NC's wonderful state parks.

Jesũs Barajas
Jesũs has worked in construction for 2+ years. He started working with Jim summer of 2024.
